Hand Grenade Update now Live!

After quite a bit of testing, we've decided to put the changes to hand grenades on live servers. Flag carriers will no longer be able to throw hand grenades.

Join the Legions: Overdrive team!

Are you a student looking to strengthen your portfolio? An experienced artist looking to be involved in an active and unique project?

The Legions: Overdrive team is currently seeking a Texture Artist to work with our existing Art Team. Legions: Overdrive is a non-profit, community driven first-person shooter based off the Instant Action property, Fallen Empire: Legions.

We're seeking a self-motivated individual who is able to devote their time (notably weekends), work within a team environment, be able to provide quality texture work, and be able to work within the constraints of 512x512 maps.

Knowledge of .dds format and the ability to lay out UVs is preferred.

Please submit examples in a .png format (showing work with Diffuse and Specular maps) to bugspray@legionsoverdrive.com

Hand Grenade Update on Public Test Servers

After much discussion with the community and testing, flag carriers no longer can throw hand grenades. This is to prevent llamas from gaining too much distance from the bases before defense can react and disable the flag combo-tossing trick.

Please give this update some testing and tell us what you think.

Forgotten on Public Test Servers

After quite a lot of time spent by DeadGuy, we've finally got Forgotten ready for testing. No need to use the public test channel for this one, just make sure your regular live game is updated.

This is modified version of Forgotten, with quite a lot of terrain tweaking and bases lowered in height significantly. So let us know what you think about it on the forums in this thread!

Blade Run now Live

After several days testing, we've now pushed Blade Run to live servers. You'll see Blade Run in the rotations for Hotswap #1, shazbot.eu #1, and occasionally on the Singapore test server.

This update also includes jumppad damage removal, so this will apply to any servers running Gorge.

Updated Blade Run with Jumppads!

We've just updated our public test servers to include jumppads on Blade Run to help with the overall gameplay and speed of the map. As a bonus we've also removed the damage from jumppads, so everyone is welcome to pile onto them, cappers and chasers alike!

We're after feedback on this change so we can figure out which version of Blade Run to put to the live servers. Do you like the updated version, or do you prefer the original? Let us know why in this forum thread.

Blade Run on Public Test Servers

After a few hours of fixing bugs and getting the map working the latest version of Legions, we've got Blade Run up and running again. It's now on the Public Test servers, but you can connect to it with the existing Live client (just make sure you've updated it though!), no need to use a special client for it.

Some of the terrain/buildings have been tweaked slightly where we had a couple of floating bases, but apart from that it's the same old Blade Run. If you can find any serious problems with the map, let us know - however tweaks to how the map works won't be taken into consideration at this moment in time.

GLS Update now Live

The previous updates on public test have now been pushed to live servers. GLS has been tweaked, Sniper Rifle animations should now be fixed.

Have fun!

Updated GLS on Public Test Servers

These changes are server-side only, which means you can access the public test server using the "live" channel from the launcher. These changes are just a couple of updates we'd like you to test:

Grenade Launcher Specialist cluster damage increased to 8 (was 5), radius increased to 22 (was 20), bomblet explosion delay now 150ms (was 350ms).
Sniper Rifle animations updated.

Don't forget to give us feedback so we can push it to the rest of the servers!

Team Registration and Clan Tags

Many months ago we promised team registration and clan tags as an upcoming feature of Legions. Sadly this has often ended up as a feature that has been pushed back due to other tasks taking priority and due to some developers having limited time.

Today, we're launching team registration and clan tags!

Instead of waiting for a fully polished version, we've launched something which should satisfy the needs of most teams for now. There may be bugs, and there are certainly quite a few limitations, but at least we're starting somewhere and hopefully additional functionality can be added over time.

Just go to the account management site (click "My Account" in the navigation bar at the top) and read the instructions/warnings when you login. Please read them before asking any questions!

One minor note is that player names have been reduced down to 15 characters to accommodate this change. Sorry if your old name has been chopped down a bit, however this was a necessary change to avoid problems with names becoming far too long.

Have fun with the tags!
